Betty L. Bush was born June 28, 1947. She passed away on Feb. 16, 2024.

Betty grew up in Brownsburg and spent most of her life living at Heritage Lake with her husband and daughters before moving to the farm in Bainbridge.

She worked at the Pioneer Village general store and as a security officer at Heritage Lake, as well as a caregiver for Visiting Angels.

Betty found her greatest happiness in loving and raising her great-grandson, Ryan Plessinger. He was her pride and joy and gave her life purpose.

She will be best remembered for her love of the Lord and sharing that with everyone she knew. She had a loving, giving heart, and never met a stranger who she wasn’t willing to help. She had a great love of all animals and enjoyed nurturing injured wild animals in her home. She gave her grandsons and nephews memories of a lifetime by spending much of her time with them as little boys out on the farm.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, William C. and Betty L. Ingram; sister Kathy Riggs; and nephew Bill Riggs.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Phillip R. Bush; daughter Tammy Marsteller (fiance Rodney Hettler); daughter Teri Tesmer (husband Joe); sister Patsy Richie (husband Don); brother Dick Flora (wife Kay); grandchildren Austin Plessinger and Tanner Dunn (fiancee Brittany Carter); great-grandchildren Ryan Plessinger and Jaxon Plessinger; nephews Ganon Richie and Neil Flora; nieces Kari Mullan and Sabrina Knox; best friends; and extended family Ray (deceased) and Melynda Howell and their children, Kris, Mendy, Samantha, Emilye, Caryn and Katye.

The Bush family has chosen cremation.

A memorial service will be held Feb. 25 from 2-4 p.m. at Lifespring Church in Bainbridge.

In lieu of flowers, Betty would have encouraged everyone to just always pay it forward in life to help others whenever given an opportunity.

Bousley Funeral Home has been entrusted with Betty’s care.
