St. Andrew’s to host service focused on child loss

A healing service for anyone grieving the loss of child will be offered at St Andrew’s Episcopal Church on Sunday, March 10 at 4 p.m.

The service will be led by Jai Miranda, a certified grief educator who offers support and care in Greencastle and surrounding areas, and Rev. Jennifer Oldstone-Moore, rector of St Andrew’s.

“The challenges of grief are always difficult, but perhaps even more gutting for those who have lost children,” Oldstone-Moore said. “There are so many different kinds of grief for parents whose child dies, but the public push for a grieving person to move things back to a non-grieving ‘normal’ is a terrible burden for all scenarios.”

This quiet and contemplative service is open to the community for anyone who has lost a child of any age, regardless of faith background.
