County Jail

Several people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Thursday

• At 6 a.m. Catherine A. Hayes, 58, Greencastle, was housed at the jail for battery, disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

Wednesday

• At 6:25 p.m. Haley J.M. McConnell, 18, Greencastle, was booked in for criminal mischief.

• At 4:55 p.m. Raven S. Branigan, 31, Cloverdale, was lodged at the jail on an Owen County warrant and a writ.

• At 1:38 p.m. Joshua L. Hooten, 31, Greencastle, was taken into custody on a local warrant.

• At 11:27 a.m. Terry J. Hennessey, 69, Clarkson, Ky., was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 3:23 a.m. Leilani M. Hamm, 35, Greencastle, was booked in on a pair of local warrants.

Tuesday

• At 9:40 p.m. Morgan C. Ottinger, 30, address unknown, was lodged at the jail for intimidation.

• At 4:34 p.m. Debra E. Carr, 55, Oldsmar, Fla., was taken into custody for brandishing a firearm and intimidation with a firearm.

• At 12:03 p.m. James R. Webb, 50, Cloverdale, was housed at the jail on a writ.

• At 10:38 a.m. Carol M. Anderson, 46, Poland, was booked in for possession of methamphetamine.

• At 7:39 a.m. Ronald W. Cottrill II, 39, Poland, was lodged at the jail for maintaining a common nuisance.

• At 2:52 a.m. Damon J. Miller, 47, Spencer, was taken into custody on a local warrant.

• At 2:38 a.m. Richard A. Romandine, 44, Brazil, was housed at the jail on a pair of local warrants.

Monday

• At 6:44 p.m. Angel M. Fredrick, 34, Poland, was booked in on a local warrant.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to five incidents between Monday morning and Thursday:

• At 11:59 a.m. on Tuesday, GFD was dispatched to the apartments at 330 Greenwood Ave. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 12:06 p.m. and determined the alarm was due to construction. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 12:15 p.m.

• At 12:05 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD was dispatched to Heartland Automotive for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 12:15 and were advised that a small fire was extinguished beforehand. It was found that a piece of material was left in an oven and had caught. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 12:23 p.m.

• At 7:17 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD was dispatched to Chinda House at DePauw University for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 7:19 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 7:24 p.m.

• At 8:45 a.m. on Wednesday, GFD was dispatched to the intersection of Madison and Earp streets for a smell of gas. Firefighters arrived at 8:52 and found that a contractor was connecting sewer lines and smelled it after removing a manhole cover. After assisting CenterPoint Energy with an investigation, GFD went back into service at 9:59 a.m.

• At 5:17 p.m. on Wednesday, GFD was dispatched to Bishop Roberts Hall at DePauw for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 5:19 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 5:27 p.m.

Additionally, GFD responded for 15 medical assists and had one disregard during this timeframe.
