Public information meeting Thursday on U.S. 231 project in Greencastle

Signs have gone up around the square warning of the pending U.S.231 reconstruction project expected to commence April 9.

A public information meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, March 28 on the upcoming U.S. 231 construction project in Greencastle.

The project, expected to begin April 9 (following the April 8 eclipse), involves road and water line reconstruction.

The meeting is set for Greencastle City Hall, 1 N. Locust St. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with the presentation beginning at 6.

Project representatives will be available before and after the presentation to speak with the public and answer questions.

Construction is expected to be complete in the fall of 2024 but is weather permitting and subject to change.
