‘The Importance of Being Earnest’ onstage at GHS this week

Set to run this Thursday through Saturday at Parker Auditorium inside the Greencastle High School McAnally Center, the GHS production of Oscar Wilde’s “The Importance of Being Earnest” will feature (seat, from left) Hannah McLaughlin as Hon. The Greencastle High School Drama Department will present Oscar Wilde’s “The Importance of Being Earnest” this Thursday through Saturday at Parker Auditorium.

From effervescent beginnings of “The Importance of Being Earnest” in Algernon Moncrieff’s London flat to the play’s hilarious denouement in the drawing room of Jack Worthing’s country manor in Hertfordshire, this comic masterpiece keeps audiences breathlessly anticipating a fresh twist of plot moment to moment.

Curtain times are set for 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 4 and Friday, April 5 as well as a 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday, April 6. House opens 30 minutes prior to the start of the show.

Tickets are $3 for elementary students, $5 for middle/high school students and $8 for adults.
