Genevieve L. Short

Genevieve L. Short, age 75, of Poland, went to be with the Lord April 8, 2024.

She was born Aug. 8, 1948 in Terre Haute to the late Robert and Mary Evelyn (Leimgruber) Carter.

She married John Short in 1971 and he preceded her in death Jan. 12, 2020.

She was an avid fisherman and a member of the Cataract Yacht Club. She was a retired nurse and taught nursing at Area 30, Greencastle.

Genevieve is survived by her brothers, Joe (Judy) Carter and Bob (Marlene) Carter, and sisters Nancy (Bill) Glawatz and Mary (Bob) Sitzman.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 11 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 12 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with internment to follow at Cloverdale Cemetery.
