Sharon Rose Gray

Sharon Rose Gray, beloved daughter, sister, mother, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully at home with family on April 6, 2024 at the age of 84.

She was born on July 27, 1939 at the family home in Parke County as the third child of Lelah Burkett Harney and Alonzo Harney.

Sharon is survived by her devoted husband, Gene Oliver; along with daughter Sabrina Gray; bonus son David Oliver; brother Dennis Harney of Parke County; sister Diane Zimmerman (Ronald) of Greencastle; and Harold “Bud” Harney of Greencastle. She is also survived by her loving nieces, nephews and cherished “adopted children.” Sharon found great companionship in her faithful cat, Precious, and grandcat Pearl.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Barbara Ann Bridges of Greencastle.

Sharon was known for her love of travel and enjoyment of casinos, but her greatest joy came from spending treasured moments with her family. She cherished every opportunity to create lasting memories and share laughter with her loved ones.

Sharon’s kind heart, generous spirit and vibrant personality will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A celebration of life for Sharon will be held at the American Legion, Greencastle, on Friday, April 19 from 3:30–6 p.m.
