The following is part of a series of biographies of county candidates for the upcoming election.

Candidates were asked to submit a biography of no more than 500 words describing themselves and their qualifications for office. Only candidates who submitted biographies by the announced April 8 deadline are featured.

Editing by the Banner Graphic news staff is minimal for only style and clarity purposes.

My name is Chad Colvin, and I am running for Putnam County Council at-large.

I have lived in Putnam County for 55 years. I am a graduate of North Putnam High School and attended Purdue University. My wife Kelly and I have been married for 34 years.

We have two sons, Walter Colvin and girlfriend Danica Weber, who live in Putnam County, and Grant Colvin and wife Brynn, who live in Battleground.

I worked in banking for 15 years and now I am currently self-employed. I have served on the Putnam County Fair Board in the past. I am a member of NewLife Baptist Church, Greencastle, where I volunteer with prison ministry.

If elected to County Council, I will represent you, the people of Putnam County, by making sound decisions based on factual information.

I would appreciate your vote for me, Chad Colvin, for County Council on the Republican ballot in the May 7 primary election.
