Rokicki to serve as Greencastle councilor at-large (07/29/09)
GREENCASTLE -- When the Greencastle Common Council convenes for its monthly meeting on Aug. 11, a new member will be joining its ranks. In a caucus of the Democratic precinct committee people of Greencastle's four wards, Phyllis Rokicki was chosen Monday as the new councilor at-large for the city.
Town dealing with sewage issues (07/29/09)
CLOVERDALE -- Since the town's $5 million sewer treatment plant was completed in March of 2008, there have been numerous problems. The utility board has already taken steps to correct some of those problems, such as hiring a class two operator to manage the plant. However, the big problem has yet to be resolved and the board is desperately trying to find a solution...
National Night Out is next Tuesday (07/29/09)
GREENCASTLE -- In less than a week, National Night Out will take place in Putnam County at Robe-Ann Park from 6 to 9 p.m. On Aug. 4 more than 40 agencies and organizations will come together for an event designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs; strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back...

On Monday, Emma Jones of Gosport was parked in front of the Dollar General Store on North Jackson Street at 8:45 a.m. When she attempted to back out of her parking space, she failed to see a vehicle parked behind her.
