INDOT awards $1.56 M for county bridges (06/25/11)
The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has chosen Putnam County to receive $1.56 million in federal money for three bridge projects. The Dunbar Covered Bridge (Bridge 105) and Bridge 104 on Dunbar Road and the Houck Iron Bridge (Bridge 146) on County Road 25 East have all received funding to be replaced. Painted Ladies (06/25/11)
Enjoying the festivities of Roachdale's Summerfest, Maddie Lawler, 8, has her face painted by Kira Calahan Friday evening. Other Friday evening activities included the VFW fish fry and the Little Mister and Miss contest. Summerfest continues today with the Roach Races, a 5K walk/run, more of the fish fry for lunch and dinner and the parade at 5 p.m.
Local students chosen for Philanthropy Committee (06/25/11)
The Putnam County Community Foundation has announced the selection of new members of the Youth Philanthropy Committee. Fair Preparations (06/25/11)
Though it may still seem quite some time away, fair week is rapidly approaching in Putnam County. With less than 30 days until the fair parade, preparations are quickly being made in order to ensure another safe, fun fair over its July 22-30 run.
