William E. Chaney, 70, Greencastle, died Friday at Mill Pond Health Campus.

Born in Oneida, Tenn., he was the son of Lloyd and Berhta (Guffey) Chaney.

He had been a greenskeeper for Windy Hill Country Club for several years and was a member of Victory Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Janice (Rogers) Chaney; daughter Brenda McClure and husband Kenny, South Carolina; sons William Chaney and wife Linda, Pennsylvania, and Timothy Chaney and wife Rhonda, Greencastle; sister Jackie Owens, Georgia; and six grandchildren.

Memorial services are set for 7 p.m. Monday at Victory Hill Baptist Church, Greencastle.

Chandler-Hays Funeral Home, Greencastle, is handling arrangements.
