A Jury trial date has been set for the Center Point man charged in connection with the June 4 automobile crash that killed a Putnam County teen.
Michael William Knight, 20, is alleged to have been driving the car that crashed west of Cloverdale on County Road 1000 South near County Road 200 West last June, killing 19-year-old Elizabeth Wehrheim and injuring Keanon Dickison, 19, and Nathan Archer, 24.
The charges against Knight include failing to stop after an accident resulting in death, driving while intoxicated causing death, causing serious bodily injury when driving while intoxicated, and driving while intoxicated endangering a person.
Knight entered a formal plea of not guilty at his arraignment in Putnam County Superior Court on June 5.
According to Putnam County Chief Deputy Prosecutor Don VanDerMoere, he and prosecutor Tim Bookwalter met with Knight's defense attorney, Darrell Felling, Monday during a closed pretrial hearing. Knight was not present for the hearing.
Jury trial has been set for 9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17.
A reduction in bond is still under advisement. Knight's bond had been set at $20,000.
If convicted, Knight could face up to 16 years in prison.
