Born in Columbus, he was the owner and barber of Ed's Barber Shop in Indianapolis on Michigan Road from 1950-68, on West 30th Street from 1968-76, and on East Street in Plainfield from 1976-2006. His career spanned 70 years.
He was 50-year member of both the Plainfield Masonic Lodge and the Cloverdale Eastern Star, having served as worshipful master and worthy patron. He was also drum major from 1959-73 in the Sahara Grotto Drum and Bugle Corps.
Surviving are three sons, John B. Cooper and wife Susie, Jim Foreman and wife Charlotte, and Tom Foreman; brother John Beswick and wife Elsie; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Wednesday at Family Funeral Care, with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.
Visitation is 10 a.m.-noon Wednesday.
