BAINBRIDGE -- The North Putnam Cougars softball team grabbed two wins to enter the sectional on a roll. North run-ruled Manuel in the first game 11-0 and did the same in the second, winning 23-1.
In the first game, Brook Miller led the way on the mound as well as the plate.
Miller pitched for nine strikeouts, one hit and no walks. At the plate, she was 3-for-3 with four RBI.
Leah Crosby was 3-for-3 while Carlye McGaughey and Ashley Doyle had two hit each on the night.
Game two saw senior Chelsea Greene pick up her first career victory. Greene threw for one run and three hits.
The Cougar bats were on fire as they connected on 22 hits and to produce its 23 runs.
McGaughey was 4-for-5 with three doubles and Miller logged three hits and five RBI. Logan Doyle was 4-for-4 at the plate, while Greene and Ashley Doyle had three hits each.
The Cougars will go against Tri-West in the opening game of the Tri-West sectional at 5:30 p.m.

Clovers down Rox
At Cloverdale Friday, the Clovers softball team doubled up Rockville, 10-5, to improve its record to 6-18 on the season.
After not scoring in the first two innings, the Clovers went on a scoring bonanza, recording all 10 runs over the next four innings.
Whitney Bond led the way with a perfect 3-for-3 performance at the plate but Stephanie Tutterow would not be outdone, as she was 2-for-2. Hannah Monnett and Kayla Shepard had multiple hits, each going 2-for-4 at the plate. Kristen Shroer, Kristin McCammon and Kate Chambers collected one hit each.
Jennifer Wiley continues to improve, throwing for two strikeouts and giving up four walks.
Cloverdale will face the winner of Tri-West and North Putnam in the Tri-West Sectional Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
