North Putnam downs Turkey Run

The North Putnam volleyball team took care of Turkey Run in four games, 25-11, 27-25, 23-25 and 25-22 at home Thursday night.

"We played terrific in the first game, Cougar coach Michelle Spencer said.

Senior Kacy Wendling had a huge night for the Cougars by recording 29 assists in the contest. Carlye McGaughey and Logan Doyle added one assist each.

Taylor Alles tallied 13 kills, while Tippany Tippin scored 11. Logan Doyle and Kayla Green and Wendling added four each.

Ashley Doyle recorded 10 digs with Logan Doyle had seven. Wendling tallied six; McGaughey had four with Green adding one.

"The last three games were tough and we had several errors. However, we did what we had to do to win, Spencer said. "I am proud of the girls. They found enough energy to win even in very hot and tiring conditions."

The Cougars will travel to Eminence at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
