Born in Cairo, Ill., he was the son of Cecil L. and Frances M. (Johnson) Calhoon.
He served in the U.S. Army for 21 years. He was a member of the Teamsters and had been a school bus driver in Putnam County for many years.
He married Tsuruko Sato Calhoon, who preceded him in death.
Surviving are his sons, Clinton, Patrick, Stephen, Robert, and Richard Calhoon; daughters, Paula Haag, Barb Morris, Connie Anderson and Melissa Stallcop; three sisters, Kay Pierce, Sharon Case and Shirley Calhoon; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
His parents, wife, and a brother, Cecil L. Calhoon Jr. preceded him in death.
Graveside services with military honors will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Little Walnut Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home.
