Born in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of John and Ruth (Cook) Reckel.
She had been a cook at Windy Hill Country Club and the Elks Club, and was owner of Smysers Seafood. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.
Surviving are son Oren Smyser and wife Judy, Greencastle, and daughter Ruth Horn and husband Ray, Stilesville; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Oren D. Smyser, four brothers and a sister.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Chandler-Hays Funeral Home, Greencastle, with burial in Cloverdale Cemetery.
Visitation is 9:30 a.m. until service time Saturday.
