Othal Pauline "Polly" Mitchell, 83, Greencastle, died Saturday morning.

Born in Marion County, she was the daughter of Clyde Emmett Cassner and Pearl Elizabeth) Snyder Daniels.

She had worked as a cook at the Bainbridge school and then at North Putnam High School for 26 years.

She married Ona Mitchell, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are a son, Ronald Baker and wife Kathleen, Danville; daughters, Dona Friend and husband John, Greenwood, Kathy Robinson and husband Richard, Greencastle, and Joanna Merritt and husband Thomas, Nashville, Ind.; 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Chandler-Hays Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Rev. Dave Clayton officiating.

Burial will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at West Newton Cemetery.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
