Floyd C. Bettis, 81, Avon, died Monday at his residence.

The son of Cay and Ruth (Street) Bettis, he was a pipe fitter and plumber at Detroit Diesel Allison Division.

He was a member of Moose Lodge No. 500 and Danville Conservation Club.

Survivors include sons, David C., Randy L., Ricky D., Stephen W., Timothy A. and Jeffrey S. Bettis; daughters, Brenda K. Bogie, Sharon L. Eberwein and Lori E. Dougherty; brothers, Tom and L.C. Bettis and Beauford Estes; 18 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Margaret "Peggy" Coryell Bettis.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Conkle Funeral Home, Avon, with burial to follow at Floral Park Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
