Barbara Wallace, 79, of Spencer died Tuesday at the Residence at McCormick's Creek after a long battle with cancer.

Mrs. Wallace was born Sept. 21, 1928, in Owen County to the late Noah W. and Ruth Walbring Harris.

She graduated from Spencer High School in 1947.

She worked as a legal secretary and retired as a secretary at Spencer Elementary School in 1992.

She was a member of Spencer United Methodist Church and worked in the thrift store there.

In October 1949 she married Charles "Kenny" Wallace.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff "J.K." and Carol Wallace of Westminster and Tom and Becky Wallace of Spencer, four grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

Her husband, her son Mark and her sister Carroll Harris Walker all preceded her in death.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday and West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer. Reverend Alvin McFadden and Reverend David Warren will officiate.

Burial will follow at Chambersville Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4:30-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
