Jeffrey D. Denton, 45, Greensburg and a former resident of Greencastle, passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at the Decatur County Memorial Hospital in Greensburg.
Born, Feb. 15, 1963 in Indianapolis, he was the son of David Denton and Sonja (McNew) Ely.
He attended the First Christian Church in Greensburg. He graduated from Greensburg High School in 1981 and then graduated from Purdue University in 1985 where he majored in agriculture economics. Jeff worked for many years in landscape management. He most recently worked in banking and finance.
He was married to Joyce G. Fogg on July 27, 1985 and she survives.
He is also survived by two sons, Christopher, 17, Scott, 14 and one daughter, Abigail, 10; his parents and step parents, David (Jody) Denton, Indianapolis, Sonja (Jim) Ely, Florida; his grandmother, Irma McNew, Arizona; four step-brothers, Jeff (Linda) Hedges, Indianapolis, Steve (Cathy) Hedges, Plainfield, Jeff Ely, Texas, Kenny (Kristen) Ely, New Palestine; two step-sisters, Becky (Brian) Harlan, Greencastle, Karen (Mark) Hamrick, Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. Sunday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 19 at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg with Rev. Danny Wolford officiating.
Memorials may be made to a trust fund for the children through the funeral home in lieu of flowers.
