North Putnam gets win

The North Putnam baseball team defeated Fountain Central 7-2 Saturday. With the win, the Cougars are 19-6 on the season.

The Cougars received a one-two punch from Kyle Rooker and Brock Jones. Rooker and Jones went yard for the 12th and 9th times respectively.

In addition to Rooker and Jones, Jordan Berry was the Cougars' only multiple hit batter on the day. He was 2-for-4 with a double. Tyler Watson also added a double. J.T. Francies, Kyle Alcorn and Darr Boruff added a hit each.

David Church pitched a complete game, throwing for five strikeouts, three walks and gave up six hits.

The Cougars will host North Montgomery at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
