Bainbridge will be the site of a Friends of the Park festival that benefits Bainbridge, Roachdale and Russellville's community parks.

On Saturday, Blast from the Past JuneFest will kick off with a car and truck show and a Brownie Contest.

The car show will happen at 201 Grant Ave. next to the water tower behind the community center, across from the Bainbridge Volunteer Fire Department on U.S. 36. Applicants are advised to park their vehicles there and go to the registration table located by the water tower. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and ends at noon. The show will run from noon to 4 p.m.

There will be plaques given out to the first 100 entries, as well as to the car club with the most participants. The classes of vehicles are as follows: 1900-19, 1920-29, 1930-39, 1940-49, 1950-59, 1960-69, 1970-79, 1980-89 and 1990-present. The cost of registration is $10.

Brownie Contest registration will run from 11 a.m. until noon. The contest will have three classes: chocolate homemade, blonde homemade and brownies from a box mix. The winner in each class receives $10 and best in show wins $25.

Other activities will be offered for families, as well as a door prize drawing every 15 minutes. The activities will include a fan belt toss for both children and adults, a Hula-Hoop contest, tug o' war, egg race and more.

There will also be music by bands such as Upward Journey, Gospel Band and Nosey Joe starting at noon. The oldest veteran in attendance will be honored with the Clifford Gorman Memorial Award.

Proceeds from the show will benefit the Fun in the Sun, Red Ribbon Week, End of Summer Luau and future events.
