"We're really excited about this project and hope lots of community organizations join in and help us clean up areas from the parade. There is always a lot of trash left by those watching and it's hard for the street department to get it all done quickly, so we want to help," said Greencastle Chamber Director Tammy Amor.
People will gather at City Hall at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 19 and then be assigned to groups who will work until noon. The Chamber of Commerce is supplying doughnuts, coffee and juice for those participating and the City of Greencastle is providing trash bags. Groups just need to bring shovels and brooms.
"We hope to clean up what in the past has taken weeks to get accomplished. And, of course, the more people we have, the more we can accomplish in less time," said Amor.
For more information or to sign up for Community Clean-up day, call the Chamber at 765-653-4517 or e-mail Amor at gchamber@gogreencastle.com by July 16.

What a great idea!
If you really want to help, join the Greencastle Stars 4H club in the Dairy Castle parking lot at 7am. This marks the fourth year the parade route will be scoured by this fine group of kids and their parents.
By 9am we're usually finished, but Chamber of Commerce members are welcome to join us for coffee afterwards.
