Charles E. "Chazzie" Sutherlin

Charles E. "Chazzie" Sutherlin, 84, Cloverdale, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2009.

He was born June 22, 1924, in Putnam County, to Pete and Effie Taylor Sutherlin.

Chazzie was a member of Putnamville Baptist Church and retired from the railroad, where he was a maintainer.

His parents and wife, Patricia preceded him in death.

Surviving are his sons, Michael Sutherlin and wife, Rosalba, of Glendale, Ariz., and Tony Sutherlin and wife, Glenda, of Cloverdale; a sister, Margie Reed of Greencastle; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13 at Bittles & Hurt Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve P. Blaydes, Jr. officiating.

A private burial will be held in Forest Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
