David L. Buis

David L. Buis, 58, of Greencastle died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009 at Roudebush Veterans Hospital.

He was born in Hendricks County on March 7, 1950 to L. Leon and Marlene Alkire Buis.

Mr. Buis had been a truck driver for Operation Blessing for several years before retiring due to illness. He had also been a missionary with the Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle Campground in Ashland, Va., as well as serving in the U.S. Air Force.

Survivors include his wife Barbara Wenhold Buis; his parents; brothers Maurice Buis of Stilesville, Jerry Buis of Reelsville and Michael Buis of Belle Union; and stepchildren Barbara Ann Dyck, Julie Taylor and husband Marc, Joseph Dyck and Aaron Dyck, all of Pennsylvania.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hays Funeral Home in Coatesville with calling from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Stilesville Cemetery with military honors.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to be made to Roudebush Veterans Hospital.
