Robert "Bob" Earl Schopmeyer

Robert "Bob" Earl Schopmeyer, 72, of Poland died on May 20, 2009 at the St. Vincent Clay Hospital.

He was born in Clay County on Aug. 24, 1935 and was the son of the late Clayburn Harry and Minnie F. Waldron Schopmeyer.

Mr. Schopmeyer was a chemical engineer for Ulrich Chemical Company, Terre Haute, member of the Jordan Village Presbyterian Church, Brazil Elks and a veteran of the U.S. Army during Korea.

He married Joyce A. Fowler on July 12, 1958, and she survives.

Also surviving are his children, Bobbie Jo McKinney and husband Greg of Reelsville, Patricia Lynn Davis and husband Tony of Spencer and Joyce Darlene Hayes and husband Sam of Jordan Village; sisters Barbara Powell of Poland, Kaaren S. Kennedy of Cloverdale and Loretta Pellam and husband Frank of Poland; brother Ronald A. Schopmeyer and wife Nancy; grandchildren Nicholaus Campbell and wife Dana, Grant Perkins and wife Kelly, Brandon McKinney, Blake Perkins, Erika Barr, Brittnee McKinney and Allie Hayes; great-grandchildren Garrielle Campbell, Cole Campbell, Gavin Perkins and Alaina Day.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Whitaker Funeral Home in Cloverdale with Pastor Dick Poff officiating. Burial will be in the Croy's Creek Cemetery.

Calling will be from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday.
