Dr. Robert Heavin, health officer with the Putnam County Health Department, administers an H1N1 Influenza A vaccine to health nurse Kathryn Thomas. Due to being a part of the high-priority group, health care providers are among the first to receive the vaccine in Putnam County. The health department has received its first shipment of the vaccine, which can be administered as a live, weakened nasal mist or an inactive, injectable vaccine.
