James A. Wilson Sr., 77, Greencastle, died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010 at Putnam County Hospital.
He was born Aug. 14, 1932 in North Salem, the son of the late Homer O. Wilson and Hazel Vansickle Wilson.
Mr. Wilson was a 1950 graduate of North Salem High School. He was a member of Free and Accepted Mason Masonic Lodge 142 in North Salem, Veterans of Foreign Wars, AmVets, American Legion and York Rite. He was a US Navy veteran, serving for 24 years from 1950 to 1974.
He worked in maintenance for the Indianapolis Post Office and had been employed with Amtrack.
Surviving are son James A. Wilson Jr., of Danville; daughter Cindy Wilson of California; sister Ruth Ann Wilson of North Salem; companion Sharon Foster of Greencastle; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A son Michael A. Wilson preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Porter Funeral Home, 6 California St., North Salem. A Masonic service will be at 5 p.m.
