Doris L. Meador, 77 of Sycamore, Ill. died Thursday, March 4, 2010 at her home.
She was born May 9, 1932 in Greencastle, the daughter of James O. and Verna A. Freeman Plessinger. She married Curtis "Gene" Meador on March 1, 1952 in Greencastle.
Doris was employed at Ideal Industries in Sycamore for over 28 years. After her retirement from Ideal Industries, she went to work in the dietary department for the Sycamore School District. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sycamore.
She is survived by one daughter, Doneva "Dee" (John) Malm of Sycamore; one son, Kenneth (Linda) Meador of New Castle; five grandchildren, Shawn (Sarah) Meador, Krista (Mike Miller) Linville, John Malm, Joseph (Amy) Malm and Travis Jack Lanning; four great-grandchildren, Nick and Sydney Meador, Shawn A. Linville and Bryce Miller; two sisters, Mary Keller of Sycamore and Bernice Zimmerman of Greencastle; one brother, Leland (Josephine) Plessinger of Greencastle; and numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, John, Jake and Jay Plessinger; and three sisters, Dorothy Sutherland, Carolyn Freeman and Edith Plessinger.
Her Memorial Service will be on March 13 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, 530 W. State St., Sycamore, with the Rev. Stephen Persson officiating. Calling will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
