He was born on July 23, 1949 in Greencastle to Howard Churchill and Virginia l. Sligh.
Tony was a graduate of Greencastle High School and Vincennes University. He had been employed at Lear, now I.A.C.
Surviving are his daughter, Angela Scharf and husband Anthony of Fox River Grove, Ill.; his mother, Virginia Sligh of Greencastle; one brother, Mark Collins; four sisters, Mellany West, Jensie Churchill, Cesselly Churchill and Marcia Simmons; one grandson, Trent Scharf; and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.
A memorial service with military honors will celebrate Tony's life on Friday at 3 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 802 South Crown Street, Greencastle, with Pastor James Churchill officiating.
