Parks Department presents 'Light the Park' this weekend

Friday, December 3, 2010

GREENCASTLE -- The Greencastle Parks and Recreation Department will present a fun-filled weekend of holiday activities with "Light the Park" at Robe-Ann Park from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The event is a fundraiser to literally light the park for the holiday season. Donations received will offset the cost of the lights on display at Robe-Ann Park during December.

In 2008, the event featured a visit from Misfit the Reindeer, Santa and his elves. What surprises are in store this year?

Light the Park will feature a chance to view decorations, have pictures taken with Santa Claus, learn about holidays from other cultures and religions, make some holiday crafts and partake in some refreshments.

Cost for attendance is a donation. Taking your own photo with Santa is $3 or the Parks Department will take a photo and send it for $5. Hot Chocolate and Cookies will also be for sale.
