The Tiger Cubs hung with the Knight in the first quarter, finishing the opening period down just 9-7. Greencastle tied the ballgame at 9-all with junior Nick Hutcheson hit a bucket with 5:48 in the second quarter. That bucket would be the last of the first half.
Northview ran off 13 unanswered points to close the half and took a 22-9 lead into the half. The Tiger Cubs shot only 20 percent in the opening half and didn't fare much better following the break.
Greencastle equaled the Knights' output in the third quarter and shot a solid 71 percent from the field in the quarter. Tyler Lewis began to attack the hoop and scored five points in the third. Hayden Stuckwisch added three and Spencer Moore and Hutcheson chipped in two points each.
Entering the final quarter of play, Greencastle found themselves 13 points down, but very much in the game. But the Tiger Cubs' touch left them in the final quarter and allowed the Knights to pull away from GHS.
As the Tiger Cubs' production dipped in the fourth quarter Northview converted 10 free throws to help power their big final quarter. Greencastle's frustration finally boiled over when Moore was hit with a technical foul with 4:45 left in the contest.
The Tiger Cubs were outscored by the Knights 24-14 in the final stanza and fell to 9-7 on the season.
Lewis led the Tiger Cubs with 10 points, while Hutcheson followed with nine. Brad Haussin connected on two three-pointers for six points and Stuckwisch scored four. Moore, J.T. Hennette and Joe Lenihan chipped in two points each.
