Edwin Guy Cloncs 78, of Roachdale, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2011 at Hendricks Regional Hospital. He was born Nov. 10, 1932 to Sanford and Vera E. Drake Cloncs in Roachdale.
He graduated from Roachdale High School in 1950. He served in the Indiana National Guard. He retired from IBM after 35 years. He also owned and operated the Corner Market in Roachdale for years and was a lifetime farmer. He was a member of the Optimist Club at Roachdale and the Loyal Order of the Moose. He served on the North Putnam School Board for eight years.
He married Mary Louise Cloncs on Feb. 18, 1951 in Roachdale and she preceded him in death on Jan. 10, 2000. He is survived by son Gary (Lori) Cloncs of Crawfordsville, daughter Gayle "Sissy" (Richard) Vanet of Greencastle, seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, his companion of several years Donna Abrams, sisters Madonna Grimes of Crawfordsville and Dorothy (Jim) Gunn of New Palestine and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding him in death was his parents, son Gill Cloncs and brother Gene Cloncs.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Roachdale Cemetery. Visitation will be at Servies & Morgan Funeral Home at 102 E. Washington St. Roachdale from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Rev. Alan Small will officiate and burial is in Roachdale Cemetery.
