Cloverdale Drugs recently opened at its new location at 900 N. Main St. (U.S. 231), the former site of the Ice Box.
CLOVERDALE -- After being closed for just two short days, Cloverdale Drugs reopened at its new location on Monday, Dec. 19 and is reportedly doing great business.

"We really like it here," owner Ben Laney said Thursday. "We've seen some new faces."

The new location is north of town on the west side of U.S. 231 just south of the Interstate 70 interchange.

Laney took over Cloverdale Drugs in January 2008 at its old location on the east side of U.S. 231 on the south side of Cloverdale.

Laney said it was always his long-term goal to own a property for his drug store, especially a site in a more highly traveled area.

The new building, the former site of the Ice Box restaurant, features a bigger parking lot as well as a drive-through.

Hours for Cloverdale Drugs are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. -- 1 p.m.

My family and I enjoyed the Ice Box, sad to see it go. Best of luck to Cloverdale Drugs.

Agreed, bummer about the Ice Box, but excited about the new location of Cloverdale Drugs! Wondering if they might have room for an old-fashioned soda fountain? No tenderloins, but we could still have our ice cream!

Yes, I was really bummed when I heard the Ice Box closed. They had good food! The service was slow at times, but the food made up for it. Good luck to the new owners!
