City Police

One recent arrest was reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

-- At 10:36 p.m. Thursday, Richard Dwayne Huber, 55, Greencastle, was arrested at his 210 N. Gillespie St. residence by Officer Nick Eastham and Capt. Charles Inman.

Lodged in the Putnam County Jail, Huber is facing charges of battery causing bodily injury and probation violation.

Two traffic accidents were investigated Thursday afternoon by GPD officers.

-- A two-vehicle mishap on the east edge of the Putnam Plaza parking lot resulted in minor injury to one of the drivers at 3:50 p.m. Thursday.

June Kolesar, 54, Cloverdale, was northbound in the main driveway area that runs back to Aldi when her 2011 Honda Civic collided with an eastbound 2002 Chevrolet Blazer, driven by Joan Ennis, 36, Greencastle.

Ennis had just left National City Bank and said she did not see any oncoming traffic as she approached the T intersection in the parking lot and the collision occurred.

Kolesar was taken to Putnam County Hospital, complaining of pain to her entire body.

Officer Darrel Bunten estimated total damage in the accident at $2,500-$5,000.

-- At 4:56 p.m. Thursday, a two-car accident was reported on East Washington Street at its intersection with Durham Street.

Sgt. Chris Jones reported that Lisa Chadd, 42, Greencastle, was stopped eastbound, waiting to turn left in a 2007 Toyota Sienna, when her vehicle was struck from behind by an eastbound 1996 Pontiac Grand Am, driven by Emily O'Neal, 20, Coatesville.

Total damage in the accident was listed at $1,000-$2,500.

Two traffic citations were issued Friday morning by city officers.

-- At 3:40 a.m., Capt. Inman cited Frederick Jacobs, 24, Greencastle, on Indianapolis Road for driving with a suspended license with a prior offense.

-- At 1:35 a.m. Friday, Pamela Sedam, 49, Quincy, was ticketed by Officer Eastham for 50 mph in a 30-mph zone on Bloomington Street.

Sheriff's Department

* On Sunday, Feb. 5 at 7:12 a.m. Jinying L. Barnett, 35, Greencastle, came out of her residence on East Washington Street, Greencastle, and got into her 2007 Kia Spectra. She forgot about the 1991 Nissan pickup parked behind her in the driveway and backed into it.

Damage $1,001-$2,500.

* On Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 6:01 a.m. Donald M. May, 52, Terre Haute, was traveling on U.S. 40 West in a 2004 Dodge Caravan when he hit a deer.

Damage $2,501-$5,000.

* At 8:47 a.m. Amanda P. Strong, 28, Coatesville, was traveling on County Road 725 East just south of County Road 525 North in a 2007 Pontiac G6 when she lost control due to ice on the roadway, hitting a guardrail.

Damage $2,501-$5,000.

* At 6:32 p.m. A hit-and-run accident occurred at the intersection of the exit from Interstate 70 westbound and U.S. 231.

Lee M. Roberts, 32, Greencastle, was stopped at the intersection after exiting I-70 in a 2007 Honda Civic. She started to enter U.S. 231 but stopped due to northbound traffic.

At that time, she was rear-ended by a maroon sedan of unknown make and model. Roberts said that as she pulled onto the shoulder, the other vehicle drove around her and continued onto northbound U.S. 231.

Roberts complained of pain to her left shoulder but signed a medical release.

Damage $1,001-$2,500.
