County Jail

A number of people have been booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

* On Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 11:54 a.m. Carle Eugene Sadler, 31, homeless, was housed at the jail for probation violation.

At 12:12 p.m. Jimmy Keith Peavler, 53, Indianapolis, was arrested for check deception and probation violation.

* On Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 1:55 a.m. Matthew Paul Sloand, 46, Stroudsburgh, Pa., was booked in for operating while intoxicated and driving with a suspended license.

At 2:21 a.m. Darlena Mae Capps, 38, Greencastle, was arrested for operating while intoxicated and public intoxication.

City Police

One recent arrest was reported by Greencastle City Police.

-- At 10:01 p.m. Tuesday, Matthew Gibson Kennedy, 29, Coatesville, was arrested on Judson Drive by Officer Matt Huffman.

Arrested for invasion of privacy, he was lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

One recent traffic citation was written by GPD officers.

-- At 1:35 a.m. Monday, Christopher Gerhardstein, 19, Lexington, Ky., was ticketed by Officer Nick Eastham for 52 mph in a 30-mph zone on Bloomington Street.

City Fire

On Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 3:08 a.m. the Greencastle Fire Department responded to an alarm at the Putnam County Senior Center, 9 W. Franklin St. Responders had to force entry into the building, where they found no problem. The alarm was reset and GFD was back on station at 4 a.m.
