WEST TERRE HAUTE -- The Greencastle boys' golf team defeated West Vigo 162-202 Thursday at Rea Park.
Luke Brotherton paced the Tiger Cubs with a round of 37. Brad Haussin followed with a score of 40 and Tanner Dean added a 42. Raymond Stinson shot a 43 to round of the scoring for GHS.
Derik Thomas shot a 44 and Alec Davis finished with 45. Brandon Long shot a 48, Jeff Anderson a 50 and Lucas Sweat a 56. Tyler Watson came in with a round of 61.
"We were a very average golf team tonight," head coach Steve Paquin said. "Average concentration, average execution, average attitude and average results. Last week's win at Northview was very good and tonight's win at West Vigo was sort of a letdown. It shows how fast a team can go from a good team to an average team."
Paquin said the round would serve as a wake-up call for his team. Although he was disappointed with the execution of his team, Paquin acknowledged the team did shoot a good score.
"We did have an outstanding score tonight," he said. "Luke had a one-over par 37 on very fast and difficult greens."
