Night Moves

Monday, August 6, 2012

The Night Stockers are back without a vengeance, creating playful yarn "Night Stocking" efforts like the caterpillar bicycle rack outside the Putnam County Public Library, along with a couple of recent additions to the atmosphere at the Putnam County Fairgrounds. Nationally, the effort --- which peaks with International Yarnbombing Day each June 11 -- is believed to have originated in Texas with knitters seeking a creative way to use leftover yarn or knitting projects. In Greencastle about a dozen anonymous but dedicated souls prefer the term Night Stocking to Yarnbombing. The effort is designed to bring joy and whimsy into our lives as handmade fiber objects are conspicuously placed in public places. [Order this photo]

Thank you Night Stalkers for adding joy & whimsy to my day! You put a smile on my face every time I see your work!
