Albert Paul Neeley, 88, Plainfield, passed away Thursday, Sept.13, 2012 in Manorcare at Prestwick in Avon.

Born Nov. 20, 1923 in Inman, Va., he was the son of James Patton and Dora Spears Neeley.

Paul married Zula Todd and she preceded him in death.

Mr. Neeley worked as a truck driver for 38 years, retiring in 1988 from Daum's Overnite Express.

He also was the trustee and caretaker of Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield for several years.

He was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Greencastle Masonic Lodge 47.

Survivors include his son, Randy (Lauri) Neeley; grandson Brian (Brooke) Neeley; stepgrandchildren, Jessica, Shelby, Bailey; and great-grandchildren, Silas and Raina.

One son, Dennis Neeley, died in 1967 during the Vietnam War.

Paul was the last survivor of 10 children, including seven brothers and two sisters.

Calling hours will be 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16 at Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, with Masonic services to start at 6 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 17 in the Maple Hill Cemetery Chapel with Rev. Dennis Pycraft officiating.
