Care Net begins capital campaign to fund permanent home

Wednesday, January 30, 2013

Care Net is a not-for-profit ministry funded through donations by individuals, businesses and churches throughout Putnam County. Care Net is seeking to fund the down payment for the house being purchased through a special capital campaign. Care Net needs to raise $21,000 for the 20 percent down payment and closing cost by Jan. 31.

Over 20 years ago more than 50 members of the Putnam County community met at the Greencastle Armory to talk about the need for a "crisis pregnancy center." Care Net has helped more than 13,000 clients since opening in June 1994.

The ministry is looking to move from its current location at the Granada Opera House to a new location on Bloomington Street, due to the recent purchase of the opera house.

Those interested in contributing to Care Net's capital campaign may send a tax-deductible gift to Care Net, 12 N. Jackson St., Greencastle, IN 46135. Please put "down payment" in the memo line of the check. On line donations can be made by going to www.egivingsystems.org/43835/.

Office hours are Monday-Wednesday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m.- 7 p.m. For more information call 653-6605.
