McCloud to host hiking sticks workshop Saturday

McCloud Nature Park will be hosting a free walking stick workshop on Saturday, April 6. The workshop will provide instructions and assistance for those interested in making their own walking stick.

Participants will learn basic stripping techniques and be able to decorate their hiking stick in the most natural style.

The program is recommended for those 10 years and older and will last approximately two hours. Registration is required by calling the Hendricks County Parks and Recreation main office at 317-718-6188.

McCloud Nature Park, operated by Hendricks County Parks and Recreation, is located five minutes south of North Salem at 8518 N. Hughes Rd.

Admission is always free and the park is open from dawn to dusk daily. The Nature Center's hours are Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday from 1-5 p.m.
