Wilma Jean Danberry

Wilma Jean Danberry, 81, of Bainbridge, passed away Monday evening, April 15, 2013 at I.U. Health West Hospital in Avon.

She was born Dec. 19, 1931 in Putnam County to Fred A. and Velvia (Beaman) Wilson, both of whom predeceased her.

She was a 1949 graduate of Fillmore High School and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker and secretary.

In addition to working for USF&G and Allison's, she was secretary for the Physics Department at DePauw University for more than 16 years and co-founded in 1979, and operated with her husband, Danberry & Associates Inc. She also worked for several years in her daughter's law office.

She was a gifted seamstress and cook, and loved to plant flowers and watch the hummingbirds each year.

She married John O. Danberry on June 2, 1950, and he survives.

Also surviving are her three children, Kenneth D. (wife Linda) Danberry of Dothan, Ala., David W. (wife Dana) Danberry of Greenwood, and Cheryl A. Danberry of Greencastle.

She loved to play cards and travel, especially to the Smoky Mountains area, with these family members and her beloved grandson, John G. (wife Stacie) Danberry of Fishers.

Also surviving are a step-granddaughter, Amy (husband Bill) Betts of Denver, Colo., and two step-great-grandsons, Zachary and Jacob.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 23 from 5-8 p.m. at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 24 at the funeral home with Pastor Randy McNeely officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
