Sheriff's Department

At 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, Elisse Neuenschwander, 61, Terre Haute, was westbound on U.S. 40 just east of County Road 850 East, driving a 2012 GMC Terrain when she hit a deer.

Damage was estimated at $1,001-$2,500.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to a pair of recent dispatches.

* At 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, GFD investigated an alarm at 415 Anderson St. The problem was caused by cooking. Crews returned to station at 12:59 p.m.

* At 6:46 a.m. Thursday, firefighters were called to assist the Fillmore Fire Department at the scene of a head-on collision on State Road 240 (see story, Page 1). Personnel helped with extrication and clean-up. They returned to station at 9:34 a.m.
