John David Smith, 70, of Bainbridge, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Hendricks Regional Health Care Hospital in Danville.

He was born Nov. 14, 1942 in Indianapolis to M. Hays and Ada F. Smith.

He graduated from Washington High School in Indianapolis and attended IUPUI at Indianapolis.

He was a retired machine operator at General Motors in Indianapolis.

He married Nina B, Smith on Sept.1, 1967 at Indianapolis, and she survives.

Other survivors include three sons, Leonard (Teresa) Smith of Roachdale, John David Smith of Pendleton, and Ralph Wayne (Mona) Dennison of Marshall; four daughters, Sherie (Ed) Southern of Darlington, DyAnna Parker and companion Tom Stahl of Jamestown, Anita Dawn (Wes) Parker of Montana, and Jacqui Simmermon of Burgaw, N.C.; 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Millard H. Smith and companion Debbie Cook of Fillmore; three sisters, Lillie May Martin and Bobbie Jo Thomas of Indianapolis, and Sharon (Ron) Snyder of Brownsburg; and a brother-in-law, Larry Schubert of Indianapolis.

One sister, Mickie Schubert, preceded him in death.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday July 19 at Roachdale Cemetery.

Visitation will be at Servies and Morgan Funeral Home, Roachdale, from noon to 12:45 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Roachdale Cemetery.
