Tiger Cubs top Bulldogs in girls' golf

The Greencastle girls' golf team beat visiting Monrovia on Monday, 225-227.

The Tiger Cubs were led by junior Lauren Bridgewater who fired a 49 at the nine-hole dual meet.

"She played very well today until the seventh hole, where she ran into some trouble," GHS coach Bob Hedge said. "Haley Cash had her personal best.

"The team struck the ball well, but we need to improve on the greens where we had too many three putts."

Monrovia's leader was Meredith Knieper, who shot a 42.

Greencastle played in the Terre Haute South Invitational on Aug. 6.
