Afternoon fire takes up camper at Van Bibber Lake

Local firefighters responded to a call at 3:13 p.m. on Wednesday as flames destroyed a camper at Van Bibber Lake at 5118 Van Bibber Lake Estates. Although the cause of the fire still had yet to be determined as of Thursday evening, Clinton Township Assistant Chief John McClain said it could possibly be due to a salamander heater that was left on. No one was harmed in the blaze. Departments on hand were Clinton Township, Roachdale, Bainbridge, Madison Township, Greencastle and Operation Life.
