* At 9:40 a.m. on Sunday, Deborah Gist, 48, Spencer, was eastbound on Interstate 70, just west of the 49-mile marker.

Gist told Lt. Donnie Pettit that she lost control of her 2002 Chevrolet Silverado due to ice while traveling over a bridge.

Her vehicle then went off the south side of the roadway and down an embankment after crossing the bridge, striking a tree with the passenger side rear area of the vehicle.

Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.

At 10:40 a.m., Jaz C. Woodard, 19, Indianapolis, was eastbound on Interstate 70 just west of the 45-mile marker.

Woodard advised Pettit that he lost control of his 2004 Ford Fusion due to ice on the roadway and went off the south side of the road and rolled over approximately four times, coming to rest along the back side of a guardrail facing west.

Damage was estimated at $10,001-$25,000.

At 1:02 p.m., Clayton O. Moore, 23, Greencastle, was traveling east on Albin Pond Road when he saw a man on a lawnmower pushing snow away from a mailbox.

Moore advised Reserve Officer Andrew Fenwick that he slowed down to 15-20 mph to drive around the lawn mower due to it being in his lane of travel. It was at that time that the driver, Alan Glaser, was unaware of Moore's location and turned south into the passenger side of his 2004 GM Sierra, dragging the snowplow down the passenger side.

Following impact with the snowplow, Moore slammed into the ditch, hitting brush and other debris with his bumper and the door of his truck.

Moore advised Fenwick that after entering the ditch his vehicle came to rest about 50 yards from the roadway.

Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.

* At noon on Monday, Stephani E. Hardman, 29, Danville, was northbound on U.S. 231 when she received a phone call from her office and looked down to find her phone.

Hardman advised Deputy Mike Downing that as she was looking down she left the east side of the roadway, causing her to overcorrect to the left and swerve into oncoming traffic.

Hardman then swerved her 2008 Volkswagen Jetta back to the right, leaving the road, entering a ditch on the east side of U.S. 231, hitting a culvert and coming to rest in the ditch.

Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.

* At 1:53 p.m., Bruce A. Kirby, 53, Brazil, was eastbound on U.S. 40 when he struck a pothole, which caused his 1994 Toyota short bed to swerve.

Kirby advised Deputy Matt Biggs that he attempted to regain control of the vehicle but could not. Kirby struck the pothole and swerved several times before leaving the roadway on the south side.

While leaving the roadway, Kirby struck a small tree, which caused the vehicle to turn over onto its top.

Upon further inspection Biggs found a large, deep pothole approximately 300 feet west of the wreck.

INDOT was contacted and was going to try and resolve the issue.

Kirby was transported to Putnam County Hospital for minor abrasions and lacerations.

Damage was estimated at $5,001-$10,000.

* At 3:54 p.m. Treva J. Jackson, 39, Greencastle, was westbound on County Road 100 South when she approached a sweeping curve to the left.

Jackson said her 2002 Dodge Caravan drifted to the outside of the curve, which caused the right front tire to get caught in a snowdrift on the side of the road, pulling the vehicle into a ditch, where it struck a power pole head on.

Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.

At 5 p.m., Kenneth G. Sanders, 20, Terre Haute, was westbound on County Road 725 South when he approached a sweeping curve to the right.

Sanders advised Deputy Downing that he entered the curve too fast and crossed into oncoming traffic and sideswiped the vehicle of Lloyd M. Arnold, 54, Reelsville.

Arnold told Downing he was eastbound on County Road 725 South when he observed Sanders lose control of his 1992 Chevrolet Camaro in the curve. Arnold tried to avoid the collision and ended up driving his 2009 Pontiac G6 into a ditch.
