Bus Stop

Friday, March 14, 2014

A charter bus swerved off the road on Friday evening while heading northbound on U.S. 231 en route to DePauw University. There were no passengers on board and driver Bobby Roper of Indianapolis was uninjured. According investigating officer Sgt. Cory Robinson of the Indiana State Police, the car in front of the bus stopped suddenly, causing the bus to do the same. When the tires went off the pavement, the soft ground caused the bus to travel into the ditch. U.S. 231 was closed for a short time between Veterans Highway and U.S. 40 as Curtis Garage Wrecker removed the bus from the scene.
