Betty Jean Baird

Betty Jean Baird, 85, of Roachdale, passed away at Mill Pond Health Campus Thursday, March 27, 2014 at 10 p.m.

She was born Nov. 5, 1928 at Indianapolis to Charles P. and Marie Galbreath Rady.

She graduated from Roachdale High School in 1946.

She was a member of the Roachdale Presbyterian Church.

Betty and her husband Jim owned and operated Rady's Market at Roachdale for several years.

She married James R. Baird on June 5, 1970 at Roachdale, and he passed away on May 22, 2006.

Survivors include three brothers, Charles Wendell Rady of Roachdale, James E. (Roberta) Rady of Lima, Ohio, and Pat S. (Margaret) Rady of Terre Haute; several nieces and nephews, and a brother-in-law Bob (Carol) Baird of New Market.

She was preceded by her parents, and two sisters, Marjorie Chittenden and Rosemary Priest.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 1 at Servies and Morgan Funeral Home at Roachdale. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday.

Burial will be in Roachdale Cemetery. Rev. Alan Small will officiate.
